Ideas Alone Do Not Make a Speech

Remember This Speaking Tip The Next Time You Speak

"Mere ideas do not make a speech."

This truth was earlier stated by William Brigance, a highly respected authority.

I strongly agree.

Ideas need to be organized, put into a logical sequence, and supported.

Support your ideas with facts, illustrations, and anecdotes (little stories).

The speech should hang together with a beginning, middle, and end.
